GP practices in Sudbury area to open over Easter weekend but people with coronavirus symptoms urged to stay at home
GP surgeries in the Sudbury area will be open over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend – but patients are reminded to telephone their practice ahead and not turn up unless advised to, so as to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) confirmed all of its practices will open on Good Friday and Easter Monday, with most also opening on Saturday and Sunday.
The practices in the West Suffolk CCG area include Sudbury Community Health Centre, Hardwicke House Group Practice in Sudbury, Long Melford Practice, Glemsford Surgery and Guildhall Surgery in Clare.
Many local pharmacies will also be open over the Easter weekend.
But Dr Christopher Browning, a GP in Long Melford and chairman of the NHS West Suffolk CCG, said: “Anyone with coronavirus symptoms of a high temperature and new, continuous cough should stay away, remain at home and seek advice from NHS 111.
“Please do not go to your GP practice, pharmacy or hospital for advice as you risk spreading the virus to others.”
