A SUDBURY councillor is urging residents to join him in a push to secure a sought-after regional gardening title and spruce up the town.
Former mayor John Sayers, a town, district and county councillor, aims to help the town win a gold award in this summer’s Anglia in Bloom competition.
He has spent the last week at the town’s railway station attempting to show people what can be achieved.
Mr Sayers, a Sudbury in Bloom committee member, said: “There are lots of areas in Sudbury that can be enhanced with some plants little bit of effort – it can make such a difference.
“People can step forward and help the community and it will be a real plus for the town.”
Sudbury has not won the prestigious gold award in the best town section of the competition for 10 years.
