A GARDEN centre has declared April a Grow Your Own month and will be hosting a series of events for keen gardeners.
Sudbury Garden Centre in Newton Road, Chilton, will be offering free advice about growing fruit and vegetables and running seed planting workshops for children.
Manager Ed Smith said: “Experienced staff will be on hand to help people choose seeds, plants and equipment, and they will also offer ideas on how to get the very best from your vegetable patch.
“For people with smaller gardens, there will be advice on growing vegetables in growbags, tubs and containers.”
On April 2 and 3, the centre will also be running a Potato Weekend, with youngsters challenged to create celebrities from potatoes and seed planting on April 16 and 17.
The workshops will take place from 10.30am until 11.30am and again from 2.30pm until 3.30pm.
On Saturday, April 23, the garden centre will then host a grow-your-own fruit advice clinic.
