A GLEMSFORD father is organising a charity event to raise funds for a hospice where his terminally-ill daughter is receiving care.
David Jewell is staging a disco with sounds from the 1960s, 70s and 80s to raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care, a charity the Free Press is supporting in a bid to raise £10,000 to help fund a community nurse for Sudbury.
Mr Jewell, whose daughter Amanda is being cared for by the hospice, said: “The staff are wonderful and they have helped our family with all aspects of care, including help in the home.
“We think the hospice does such a great job and offers a really valuable service.
“Amanda will be at the disco and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible. The tickets are £5 for adults and children are free.”
The event takes place at Glemsford Social Club on Saturday, September 3, from 7.30pm. For tickets, contact Mr Jewell on 01787 280159.
