CHILDREN from Great Waldingfield Primary School have done their bit for less fortunate youngsters by filling more than 40 shoe boxes with goodies.
The children all joined in with Operation Christmas Child appeal, which is run by Samaritan’s Purse and distributes shoeboxes full of toiletries, toys and gifts to poor children all over the world.
The boxes, all brightly wrapped in Christmas paper, were taken from the school to a local packing warehouse on Sudbury’s Chilton Industrial Estate ready for distribution.
Headteacher Angie Jones said: “Some of the children and staff took the boxes to the warehouse.
“This appeal really helps them appreciate what they have and that there are children in the world who aren’t as lucky as them.”
Last year, Samaritan’s Purse delivered 1.12million shoeboxes to children in 14 countries around the world.
