A Sudbury church group and charity has been given £10,000 towards its community work by a media company.

Stour Valley Vineyard Church was given the donation by TMH Media, based in Nayland, as part of the company’s scheme of giving 10 per cent of its profits to charity.

Andrew Stewart-Darling, church pastor, said: “We are totally humbled by TMH Media’s generous gift. We have been blown away by their kindness.”

Stour Valley Vineyard Church, which was set up by Mr Stewart-Darling and his wife Emma in 2007, also runs Storehouse, a foodbank enterprise. It is one of the groups investigating the possibility of taking over the former Uplands Middle School site.

“The foodbank is seeing its busiest time ever – the donation could not have come at a better time,” said Mr Stewart-Darling.

“Many churches and schools have collected significant amounts of food donations at their harvest services.”

Christine Longer, from TMH Media, said she hoped other companies would also help to support the church.
