Firm hosts casino night

A CASINO evening will be held to raise funds for a charity that supports the terminally ill and those with life-threatening conditions.

The event is being organised by Glemsford accountants Paul Donno & Co as part of St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Towergate Accumulator challenge.

The contest pitches 49 teams from across the region against each other as they battle it out to raise as much money as possible for the charity from a £50 stake – and Paul Donno & Co is the reigning champion.

Paul Donno said: “Last year we organised several different events during the course of the challenge and we were delighted when we raised nearly £3,000 for the hospice.

“This year we are looking to retain our title and are hoping that the casino evening is well supported.”

The Sudbury branch of Ipswich Building Society is also competing in the event, with an in-store crazy golf course until August 10, as well as a two-day, 38-mile walk by a team of six employees on September 2 and 3.

Paul Donno & Co’s event is being held at the Purple Mango Indian restaurant in Sturmer Road, New England, near Halstead, on August 18 at 7pm.

Tickets cost £25 and include a two-course buffet, as well as £5 of chips to play at the tables.
