Firefighters called from across region to put out house fire in Great Cornard

Firefighters from Sudbury, Halstead, Hadleigh and Ixworth were called to a fire in Raydon Way, Great Cornard, yesterday (January 5).

One woman was taken to hospital for shock, however there were no serious injuries.

Emergency services were contacted about the blaze on the ground-floor of the end-of-terrace property at 12.01pm.

A crew from Sudbury was first on scene and called for back up.

The fire was put out by crews by 1.18pm, with crews remaining on scene until 4pm.
