A Sudbury bank that was forced to close after being severely damaged during the town centre fire on September 6, has been given support for repairs from Sudbury town council.

The council’s planning committee agreed to proposals to reconstruct the roof of the Grade II Listed HSBC building in Market Hill.

The matter will now go to Babergh District Council to decide whether the works can go ahead.
