A TOWN council will open its doors to visitors today in an effort to forge a stronger relationship with the community it serves.
People are being invited into Sudbury Town Hall on Market Hill to find out about the town council, the services it provides and the benefits it brings to the community.
The open day, which is running from 9am to 3pm, will allow people to get advice on a range of issues, including tax, bus passes, benefits and registry matters.
People will also be given an early chance to meet some members of the newly-elected council.
Town clerk Sue Brotherwood said: “The council has always had a very strong relationship with the public it serves and the idea of the open day is to help us engage more directly with the community.
“With some of the most significant changes in local government in decades currently taking place, the role of the town council is growing and it has never been so important for us to work closely with the community.”
