Concerns about the future of village bus services were among the main points to come from a community meeting.
About 40 residents from Bures and Newton attended the meeting as part of Babergh District Council’s community engagement scheme earlier this month.
The meeting, in Bures, invited people to express their views on council cutbacks and what more could be done to improve their area.
Peter Holbrook, Bures district councillor, said he was pleased with the honest opinions voiced during the meeting.
“One of the issues related to concerns that the bus service to Sudbury and beyond might be under threat in the longer term,” he said.
“If it is cut, that would have a very major negative impact on many people’s lives – especially the elderly.”
The meeting will be used to help shape future council priorities.
