To celebrate its 175th anniversary, Hadleigh Farmers’ Agricultural Association has been busy raising money for charity.

At a recent annual winter drinks party, association chairman Chris Partridge presented Rosie Western, chairman of the Suffolk branch of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute, with a cheque for £3,200.

The money was raised at a charity ball in September, when 160 members and guests enjoyed an evening of food, wine and dancing, combined with a highly successful silent charity auction.

The auction raised in excess of £6,000, the money being shared between the farming charity and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Mr Partridge said: “We were delighted to be able to support such worthwhile causes.”

A separate presentation to the air ambulance will take place at the beginning of January.
