A NEW monthly farmers’ market is coming to Assington from next month.

Organisers of the established Lavenham Farmers’ Market are taking their successful formula to Assington Barn in The Street.

It will take place on the second Sunday of every month from 10am to 2pm, with the first market being held on Sunday, April 10.

It will feature more than 20 stallholders selling local produce, including apple juice, strawberries, apples and pears from Assington Fruits, children’s clothes and accessories from Assington businesswoman Rebecca Lewis, and goose, duck, chicken and quail eggs from Elmsett Farm Eggs.

Organiser Justine Paul said: “We are delighted to have a market in Assington and this has been reinforced by the enthusiasm shown by so many of the residents of the village.”

Traders from Lavenham Farmers’ Market, which next meets at Lavenham Village Hall on Sunday, March 27, will also be at Assington.
