SUDBURY’S community wardens are calling for volunteers to help give the town a spring clean.

Suffolk Spring Fortnight, which is being backed by Sudbury Town Council, starts on Monday and runs until April 8.

The project is part of the Creating the Greenest County Partnership and volunteers will be asked to help with litter picking and highlighting areas in need of cleaning around Sudbury.

Community warden Andy Nunny said: “We really need as many people as possible to help us give the town a massive spring clean and to let us know of areas they feel could do with some attention.

“People can take part for as long or as little as they like and we will provide volunteers with all the equipment they need.

“This is about people taking pride in the place where they live and work and we hope they will support us,” he added.
