Elderly man attacked

AN elderly man was pushed to the ground and robbed as he made his way home from a Sudbury pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery which took place on a bridge in Springlands Way at about 10.10pm on Thursday.

A man in his 70s was walking home from the Silkworm pub when he was approached by two men.

One pushed him to the ground and they both searched his pockets, before taking cash, cards and keys.

The pair ran off in the direction of Essex Avenue. The victim was unhurt except for a cut finger.

The first man is described as white, aged between 18 and 19 years old, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and clean-shaven.

The second man is also described as white, aged 18 years old, 5ft 8ins tall, and is also of medium build and clean-shaven.
