Woman’s appeal to help support African school

A GLEMSFORD woman is looking for like-minded people who share her vision of helping children in Africa.

Marion Wilson, from High Barn, is heavily involved in a school project educating youngsters and providing them with up-to-date facilities in Gambia.

She has already visited the country twice and is set to return later this year.

She also sponsors two children at the Jofi Preparatory School in Serrekunda and is attempting to raise £800 to fund new equipment at the building.

A portion of the money will be used to replace tables at the school, which caters for 43 children in nursery and primary education.

“I just want like-minded people to get in touch,” said Mrs Wilson, who will be completing an eight-mile walk for the cause on August 27.

A charity stall will also be set up on Sudbury’s Market Hill on the day of the walk and Mrs Wilson is looking for volunteers to help out.

Anyone interested in helping should email marion@wilson9349.freeserve.co.uk.
