Driver rescued from car roof after being stranded in body of water in Whatfield

A driver was rescued from a body of water in Whatfield after calling emergency services while stranded on the roof of his car.

The incident took place near the junction between Rectory Lane, Whatfield and Ash Street which leads to Semer.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew to the scene at 3.26pm after the driver called while stranded on the roof of his vehicle.

The man was advised to remain on the roof and was rescued using a ladder.

The crew was stood down by 3.48pm.
