MUSIC lovers are being given the chance to get double the enjoyment from a ticket allowing them to attend two Sudbury festivals, writes Neil Bracegirdle.
Organisers of Live and Kicking and LeeStock music festivals – which have joined forces this year – have launched a discounted weekend pass, with entry to both events.
Richard Instance, one of the event’s organisers, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to attend the two events, as both will be fantastic in their own right and we do not want anyone to miss out.
“However, we realise times are a little hard and that is why we have agreed to launch the ‘weekender’ ticket. Obviously, the more of these we sell the more we will raise for our respective charities.”
The two-day festival will be held at AFC Sudbury’s MEL Group Stadium on June 3 and 4, to coincide with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Proceeds will be split between two chosen charities – the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Willow Foundation.
LeeStock, taking place in memory of music-mad Lee Dunford, who died aged 21 from cancer, will be held on the Sunday, with famous names such as Wheatus, Mark Morriss and Dodgy’s Nigel Clark performing.
Live and Kicking will be held on the Monday and will feature some of the music industry’s leading tribute acts, including those dedicated to Coldplay, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
There will also be fairground rides, a children’s entertainer and face painting.
Mr Instance added: “We felt it made sense to join forces this year to create a jubilee extravaganza and make the event one of the biggest festivals on the region’s music scene.
“By working together, we have attracted some very big acts and we hope to see lots of people attending both Live and Kicking and LeeStock.”
The weekender ticket is priced at £25.00. For more information, go to www.afcsudbury.com or www.leestock.org.
