A donkey day is to be held in Lavenham to raise funds for a charity which works to improve the welfare of the animals.
Acclaimed bronze sculptor Kate Denton is putting on the event in the grounds of her Lavenham Hall home on June 1 in support of The Donkey Sanctuary.
Visitors on the day will get the chance to meet three miniature donkeys, Barnie, Wilma and Freddie, who are all foster donkeys from the charity. There will also be stalls to browse including, a tombola, cake and tea stalls and a raffle.
“We are greatly looking forward to hosting our Suffolk Donkey Day on behalf of the Sanctuary,” said Kate.
“Donkeys are so often ignored at best, and abused at worst, when they provide such loyal and undemanding hard work to mankind around the world.”
The event will run from 2pm till 4pm with all proceeds going to the charity. For more information visit www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk.
