A CUB Scout group has been recognised for its competitive spirit during the last year.
Members of the 1st Acton and Waldingfield Cub Scout group were presented with the Ernest Shaw Shield.
The trophy is awarded to the pack which has gained the most points for attendance and performance throughout the year’s district events.
Cub Scout leader Cliff Dark said the group had enjoyed a very successful year. It had won the district football competition and finished no lower than fourth in the rest of the year’s events, including sports day and rounders.
“This is the first time since 2006 that we have won the trophy and the Cubs have shown what an all-round talented bunch they are after beating some stiff competition,” he said.
In all, 14 packs across the district took part in the competition, with the Kedington and Haverhill groups coming in joint second place.
