Woman to stand trial over Sudbury stabbing

A 46-year-old woman will stand trial following a stabbing in Sudbury on Thursday.

Sonja Malyon, of Hoxter Way in Sudbury, denied wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

She was arrested on Thursday night after police were contacted when a 43-year-old woman was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a number of stab wounds to her upper body.

Officers began an investigation into what had happened and interviewed Malyon. She was charged and has been released on conditional bail to appear at Ipswich Crown Court for trial on September 10.

Malyon admitted production of one cannabis plant which was discovered following a search of her house. She was fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
