Police seize £250,000 of drugs in raid

MORE than £250,000 of cannabis plants were seized by police during a dawn raid in Sudbury on Tuesday.

Officers executed a search warrant at a warehouse in Addison Road at around 7.30am.

Two men – aged 40 and 42 – were arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and, after being quizzed by detectives, were released on bail until August 22 pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Dan Connick, speaking at a Sudbury Town Council meeting on Wednesday night, said: “We found eight lorry-load containers of cannabis production equipment, including 2,400 cannabis plants.

“We were acting on community intelligence.”
