The intervention of Sudbury and Long Melford fire crews prevented gas cylinders inside a caravan from exploding on Sunday.
Three crews were called to a caravan on fire in Folly Road, Great Waldingfield, at 3.35pm.
Firefighters arrived to find large quantities of wood and several outbuildings also alight.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “We also had reports of cylinders in the buildings, however, swift intervention from the crews managed to stop the cylinders becoming involved in the fire.”
The blaze was brought under control within 50 minutes.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
