Burglars raid supermarket

POLICE are appealing for information after three men broke into a supermarket and stole cigarettes.

The thieves smashed their way into Waitrose in Station Road, Sudbury, at around 4.20am on Monday before fleeing with their haul.

Police investigating the burglary now want to trace three men caught on CCTV.

The first man was wearing a black balaclava, a dark grey jacket, dark blue trousers or jeans, black shoes and black gloves.

The second man was wearing a black balaclava, dark blue trousers or jeans and white trainers. He was carrying a light-coloured sheet.

The third man was wearing a grey hooded top, blue jogging bottoms, white trainers and black gloves.

Police are also linking the men to the theft of a large quantity of diesel, which was siphoned from a Volvo HGV parked in the lorry park in Station Road between 4pm on Sunday and 7am Monday.
