Creative school children were given a theatrical festive treat after triumphing in a colouring contest run by a Bury St Edmunds company.

More than 600 pupils from 30 schools across Bury, Sudbury, Haverhill, Stowmarket and Diss decorated baubles on a colouring sheet for the Frames Conservatories Direct competition to win tickets to see the Jack and the Beanstalk panto at the Theatre Royal.

Following designs including glitter stars, cotton wool snowmen, wax crayon puds and Father Christmas, 16 winners were chosen.

As well as family tickets to the show, they each received a programme, goodie bag plus the chance to meet the cast on stage and have their photo taken after the performance.

Julie Cole, business development assistant at Frames, said: “They absolutely loved it.”
