SUDBURY Society is staging its Visions of Sudbury exhibition later this year, and organisers are calling all artists – photographers, printmakers, potters, sketchers, needleworkers, embroiderers – to get busy over the coming months.
This is the fourth year the exhibition has been held. This year, there will be the opportunity for visitors to vote for two awards of “Best in Show”.
Press officer Anne Grimshaw said: “It’s nearly spring so it’s time to get out paint boxes, dust off cameras, sharpen pencils and get out into the fresh air to create fresh visions of Sudbury.
“You don’t need any qualifications except enthusiasm for the local environment and a desire to interpret what you see into a piece of artwork.
“You have all summer to be inspired but time goes quickly – don’t miss the deadline for entries which is September 12.”
The event will be held in St Peter’s from October 10 to 17. There are two categories for entries – general and schools – with Sudbury’s upper schools being invited to encourage their students to take part.
King Street jeweller Jonathan Lambert is sponsoring the event, and entry forms will be available on Saturday from Sudbury Society’s stand at the Sudbury on Show event, at St Peter’s and in the town hall.
