Council: We want ideas

SUDBURY Town Council is calling on voluntary organisations across the area to do more for young adults in the community.

The authority has launched a new initiative in a bid to review what is being done for hard-to-reach groups.

Sudbury mayor Tony Platt said: “While we are proud of our town and organisations which make it such a friendly and vibrant place, we wonder whether we might all be doing more to reach out to those, particularly young adults, who feel little sense of community or connection with the town.”

Mr Platt said he recognised that many groups already played a vital role in helping young people in the community, but was eager to hear new suggestions.

Anyone with ideas about the initiative should contact the town council on 01787 372331.
