Colne Valley at War
War descended on Castle Hedingham this weekend as the Colne Valley Railway held its Colne Valley at War day.
The railway played a major part in the war effort as it served many local airfields that were dotted around the region.
In a fun-packed day with many staff and visitors in period costume, there were evacuation trains, bomb trains and military vehicles from the Second World War.
Having faced closure, the railway was saved earlier this year after being given the option to buy the land it is currently situated in, in Yeldham Road, if it can secure funding worth £1.65million to purchase the site.
