Visitors to Clare Castle Country Park were thanked for their support over the past year, which enabled a £1.5 million project at the site.

Park trustees organised a special ‘Thankstoyou’ event last month, in recognition of those who helped make the park’s grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund possible.

Attendees were given a broad overview of the project by trustees Geoffrey Bray and Richard Smith and project manager James Mellish, and received a guided tour of the park.

They also gained an insight into the design of upcoming activities, such as the moat improvement project, the nature trail, the play train and the interpretative circular seat at the top of the medieval motte.

Trustees chairman Mr Bray said: “Feedback from those who took part was so positive that we would like to arrange further opportunities like this for people to find out more about what is going on.”
