Carols sung by young children from Great Waldingfield Primary School opened a festive fair held in the village hall on Saturday.

Organised by the fundraising committee of St Lawrence Church in Great Waldingfield, the fair is thought to have raised around £900 for church funds.

Event organiser Lyn Culham said there were 15 stalls selling a selection of handmade items and gifts, including jewellery, puzzles, teddy bears, scarves and soaps.

“We had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day and it was a great success,” she said.

“Lots of people commented on how lovely it was and how much they enjoyed it.”

The village’s festive fair has been held for many years, only recently changing venues from the church to the warmer village hall.
