Celebrating 90 years with a donkey day

Iconic Lavenham lady Marjorie Newman was 90-years-old on July 6.

As a lifelong supporter of The Donkey Sanctuary, Mrs Newman had for many years held a Donkey Day at her home and this year had decided to do so again.

Sue Field, donkey welfare advisor at The Donkey Sanctuary, said: “Marjorie’s enthusiasm, love of life and people has made her a much loved figure in Lavenham. Instead of taking things easy in her 91st year, she has decided to hold another Donkey Day.”

It will take place on August 22, from 10.30am to 12.30pm at The Pound, Park Road, Lavenham.
