Cavendish author launches new novel about French artist's tragic affair

An author from Cavendish has explored the love affair between a French artist and his mistress in her latest novel.

Written by Lynn Bushell, Painted Ladies tells the story of the relationship between Pierre Bonnard and his model Renee Montchaty, which ended in tragedy.

Mrs Bushell has drawn on her own experiences as an artist and historian to delve into the rivalry between the two main women in Bonnard’s life.

Her extensive career includes working as a features editor at Vanity Fair fashion magazine and as as a researcher to the biographer Michael Holroyd.
