A SUDBURY woman has won a national award to travel to Australia.
Catherine Lowenhoff, 54, from Melford Road, is one of a handful of people from the region to be given a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Award, a travelling fellowship named after the wartime prime minister and worth £6,000.
She was one of 100 recipients in the UK and says she is looking forward to travelling to Sydney on April 4 to meet with child development professionals to study child communication.
Mrs Lowenhoff, who works as an independent nurse practitioner, will stay in Australia for six weeks.
She said: “It’s brilliant. Anyone can apply, so I hope more people from Sudbury will do so. I’m completely thrilled.”
