A Sudbury fish and chip shop could expand into a neighbouring florist’s after councillors backed a planning application.
Yunus Aslan, owner of The Codfather restaurant and takeaway in King Street, has submitted an application to change the use of Passion Flowers from A1 retail to A3 restaurant.
The move would see the florists become a seating area for an additional 60 to 80 customers, providing up toeight jobs and allowing the restaurant to extend its menu.
Mr Aslan, who has owned the business for two years, said: “I want to expand the restaurant, then we can have more privacy and room for customers.
“Passion Flowers is still in business but it is looking to move out to a different shop.”
