SHOP owners in Sudbury, Lavenham and Long Melford are being urged to spruce up their window displays to take part in an independent retailers day on July 4.
Retailing guru Mary Portas is supporting the day to encourage the public to get behind their town centre shops.
Sudbury Market Town Partnership and the Sudbury Town Team have jointly organised a best retailers window display competition.
Chris Storey, chairman of Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, said: “Sudbury has a great range of independent shops and offers a superb shopping experience for customers.
“A focus on standards to encourage customers back to the town regularly is important for all businesses, and imaginative window displays that add to the shopping experience is an excellent way of supporting this.”
The winning retailer receives one year’s free membership to the Sudbury and District Reward Card, plus 10 leaflets/cards to sell to customers for £1 each.
The reward card scheme was introduced in 2010 to encourage customers to use independent retailers.
To enter the competition, retailers must email a photo of their window display, business name and address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
