A Sudbury children’s nursery had a party to celebrate being rated as outstanding by Ofsted for the third time in a row.
Inspectors said The Playbox Nursery, which is based at St John’s Church community centre in York Road, has an exceptionally well-qualified and experienced nursery staff team.
Lisa White, nursery supervisor, said: “We enjoyed an outstanding party entertained by magician Ollie when all the children came in fancy dress to celebrate everyone’s achievements.
“The nursery has continued to go from strength to strength and has increased its sessions due to high demand for places.”
Playbox achieved outstanding in all four areas which are rated as part of the inspection - for effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, and outcomes for children - as well as an overall grading of outstanding for quality and standards.
Inspector Lynn Clements said: “The manager provides inspirational leadership to the staff team. Together they plan and deliver a very wide range of innovative and exciting learning opportunities.
“The exceptionally well-qualified and experienced staff team offers a tremendously rich and varied range of multisensory activities. These learning opportunities enable the children to extend and build on skills that provide them with a firm understanding to continue exploring and learning.”
The nursery, which takes children from aged two to four, has 28 children. It was inspected in March, its last inspection date being December 2009.
