Bury St Edmunds Nearly Festival is nearly sold out
Hundreds of people are expected to attend a two-day music event taking place in Bury St Edmunds this weekend.
The Nearly Festival is hosting a family-friendly festival and fun day in the Abbey Gardens on Saturday and Sunday but tickets are now only available for Saturday night, for adults only, and for Sunday.
Organisers say they are expecting up to 1,200 adults each day plus children and have stayed well under the given capacity because they have a lot of activities and infrastructure going into the site.
Danny Banthorpe, one of the organisers, said: “We can’t wait for our debut event in Bury – the public response has been quite overwhelming and the town so welcoming.
“We’ve got some of the best touring tribute bands in the UK to showcase and some great activities for the kids too.
“Unfortunately, we’ve totally sold out of Saturday day and weekend day tickets but we have a handful left for Sunday only and have set up a special Saturday night ticket for any adults coming later (after 4.30pm) for the headline acts.”
Tributes to Bob Marley, UB40, Madness, The Specials and Amy Winehouse are in the line-up for Saturday while on Sunday festival-goers can expect to hear musical tributes to the likes of Kings of Leon, The Killers, Oasis, Stone Roses, Paul Weller and Britpop.
