Burglars target elderly lady’s home in Sudbury


Police are appealing for information after reports of a distraction burglary in Sudbury.

Officers were called at 5.45pm on Friday, June 10, to reports that two men had called at the home of an elderly lady in First Avenue, Sudbury.

The men claimed to be from the water board and entered the house. It is unknown at this stage if anything was taken.

The men are described as white and of large build, approximately six feet tall and wearing works-type jackets.

Members of the public are asked to remember to be vigilant and check the ID of anyone claiming to be from a utilities agency. Reputable companies will show ID.

Calls can also be made to confirm that representatives are in your area before allowing them entry.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting CAD 316 of 10th June.
