Brownies day out

BROWNIES in Cavendish enjoyed a big day out in the capital learning about the adventurous spirit of girl guiding recently.

1st Cavendish Brownies visited Girl Guiding headquarters in London earlier this month, spending the day doing “Flash, Bang, Boom” experiments to gain their science investigation badge.

Following this the girls enjoyed a walk to Buckingham Palace, where they took time to think about their next badge, “Diamond Jubilee”.

The trip was made possible thanks to a contribution from Cavendish Parish Council.

Beverley Jane Duncan, the pack’s assistant leader, said: “It it the first time that we have done anything so adventurous, but and as the Brownies were so well behaved and had so much enjoyment from their day it certainly will not be the last.”

Mrs Duncan added that the pack was currently full, but would have spaces for girls to join in September.
