PUPILS dressed as characters from their favourite books, including Goldilocks, Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter, to celebrate the culmination of a week of activities.
Year 7 students at Hadleigh High School arrived for lessons in a variety of outfits based around the stories that they love, as part of the school’s book week on Thursday.
During the week, which was organised to help promote literacy and reading, the 11 and 12-year-old pupils also took part in a guess the teacher competition – with the teacher’s face hidden by a book – as well as quizzes and regular readings of Billionaire Boy by David Walliams.
Librarian Beck Watson, who organised the week, said it had been very successful.
“The pupils really made a fantastic effort with the non-uniform day and only used what they had at home,” she said.
“They have thoroughly enjoyed the week and had lots of fun.”
