THE summer holidays may have only just ended, but organisers of Sudbury’s well-established Christmas tree festival are gearing up for another record-breaking show.
Invitations have gone out this week – to past and new exhibitors – to take part in the festival in St Peter’s, on Market Hill, from December 5 to 9. The official opening will take place on Tuesday, December 4, at 7.30pm.
Organised by Sudbury’s two Rotary clubs, this is the 10th festival to be held in the town, and each year it has grown in popularity with both exhibitors and visitors, with last year’s event attracting more than 7,000 people.
Organiser Valerie Goodchild said: “More than 100 invitations have been sent to past exhibitors and those who requested to be added to our mailing list last year.
“We’d also like to extend an invitation to anyone else who is interested in exhibiting to complete a booking form before the deadline of October 26.”
The festival will be open to the public from 10am to 7pm from December 5 to 8, and from 10am to 6pm on December 9. Admission is £1 per adult and free for children aged under 12.
Proceeds from this year’s festival will be going to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, The Friends of St Peter and other good causes in the community.
q Booking forms can be obtained from Sudbury Tourist Information Centre in the library on Market Hill or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
