A Suffolk hotelier is excited for the future, after the business received a prestigious award less than a year after he and his wife took control.

The Bell Hotel in Clare was named as the Best In House Traditional Restaurant in Suffolk in the 2019 Restaurant and Bar Awards run by Luxlife Magazine.

Daniel Esplen, who has owned the business with his wife Zainab Khan since July, told the Free Press: “For us, we are extremely excited.

“After being in business for a few months, to be recognised in this way is an achievement in itself.

“We’re excited for the future and to see what happens next.

“We want it to continue to become a destination of choice for East Anglia. The town has been extremely receptive and supportive of us.

“We’ve found that if you bring people into the town, the whole town benefits, so people are really supportive of what we are trying to do here.”
