A road was flooded in Hadleigh this week after sand bags used to support a bank failure caused a build up of water.

The large puddle accumulated in Pond Hall Road.

A bank had recently failed due to heavy rain fall, with sand bags put down as a temporary measure.

However, following heavy rain on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, the water built up.

A spokesman for Suffolk County Council said highways staff had been on site on Thursday to move the sandbags and direct the water away.

“The banking had fallen away due to the wet conditions,” he said.

“Next month workmen are due to fix the issue permanently.”
