Assington restaurant expands business into weddings market
A popular restaurant in Assington is growing its business to cater for the weddings market.
Annie Reidy, co-owner of Assington County Kitchen, said the restaurant’s new extension makes it the ideal location for wedding receptions and private parties.
She runs the restaurant, based at Assington Barn in The Street, with her co-owner Malcolm Long.
A modern 60-seat restaurant extension – called the Garden Room – was completed last year.
Head chef and co-owner Annie said: “We’ve been here since 2014 and have grown from a tea room to a restaurant, offering meals seven days a week.
“Since then, the kitchen has been revamped to make it bigger, and the extension was added last November. We are marketing ourselves as a venue for weddings.
“The modern extension is light and airy. It has a lovely views over the garden, and its own separate entrance.
“It’s a comfortable room and our team of 10 staff have lots of catering experience as well as access to celebration cake makers and florists.”
She added: “The location and free parking makes it an idea venue for weddings and private parties, as we can cater for 60 people sitting down and 120 people standing.”
