PREPARATIONS are gathering pace for Sudbury’s Party in the Park, with a crowd of up to 3,000 people expected.
Now in its third year, the event at Belle Vue Park will see a range of displays, acts and activities later this month.
The event is organised by Sudbury Town Council and aims to raise the profile of the diverse range of clubs and groups in and around the town, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Deputy town clerk Jacqui Howells said: “We are really excited about this year’s event and are hoping it will be the best yet.
“One of the main aims of Party in the Park is to allow local organisations, groups and clubs to provide a taster of what they do, giving people the chance to try something they have never thought of trying before.
“We also have some wonderful acts performing throughout the day, which we are sure everybody will enjoy.”
Opening this year’s event will be the Samboomba Samba Band, which will be followed by a number of other acts, including street dance act Xtreme and singer Lee Bennett, both of which featured last year.
Martial arts displays, fitness routines and theatrical performances will also take place on the day.
Other attractions include a children’s entertainer, climbing walls, a penalty shootout and circus workshops.
The event starts at 11am on July 24, with music from 5pm to 8pm.
