Appeal after woman threatened and verbally abused while walking with young daughter in Great Cornard

A woman was verbally abused and threatened while walking with her seven-year-old daughter in Great Cornard last week.

Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses to a reported public order offence, which took place in the alleyway off Prospect Hill, leading towards Eldred Drive, between 11am and 11.30am on Tuesday, June 16.

The mother reported that she and her daughter had waited for a couple to walk down the alleyway.

However, when they were approached by the pair, there was an altercation, during which the mother was verbally abused and told to keep two metres away by a woman, who then threatened to spit at her.

The woman has been described as white, over 50 years of age and approximately 5ft 8in tall.

At the time of the incident, she was wearing a pink or peach-coloured, short-sleeved T-shirt and blue trousers.

Police would now like to hear from anybody who has any information about this incident, or who may be able to identify the woman involved.
