Appeal after Great Yeldham collision left two men with serious injuries

Police are appealing for further witnesses to a collision in Great Yeldham.

Officers were contacted shortly before 7.30pm on Friday, November 20 with reports a silver Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck and a green Audi A3 were in collision in Poole Street.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Two men aged in their 20s suffered serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Both have since been discharged from hospital and are recovering at home.

A 23-year-old man from Halstead was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He was bailed until January 11, pending further enquiries.

Pc Darrin Lee, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have spoken to a number of witnesses but we understand there are other people who were at the scene and have yet to come forward.

“We are keen to speak to them, in particular a bus driver who is believed to have come across the scene of the collision.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who saw a silver Mitsubishi L200 truck driving in the Great Yeldham area that evening.”
