Baby bottle manufacturer Philips Avent has put its Glemsford headquarters on the market for £10 million.
The 17-acre site in Lower Road is being marketed for sale – or for let – by commercial property agent Savills.
The company has confirmed that its factory is to cease production in June, affecting more than 400 jobs.
Redundancies will start in March and continue until the factory closes, it says.
A spokeswoman said: “Philips is focussed on two vital outcomes – supporting our affected employees in the most constructive way possible and finding an industrial buyer for the site so the plant can continue to deliver economic and employment value to the area.
“We will continue working with the South Suffolk Taskforce and other organisations who have offered help in making these important outcomes happen and to deliver these future programmes in the right way and at the right time.”
Philips announced last year that it would be shutting the factory and consolidating its manufacturing operations in the Netherlands.
This came after a review of the company’s European operations.
The spokesman said staff are being helped to prepare CVs and with interview skills training through JobCentre Plus sessions being held on site.
The firm has also arranged a jobs fair to be held on March 7, inviting local businesses to attend in order to share their job opportunities.
Any businesses interested in attending can contact Vivien Wright on 01787 267009 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
