Alumni from Sudbury Modern Secondary School's Class of 1954 reminisce at special union
Former students reminisced about their treasured school days in Sudbury at a special get together last week.
The group, who left Sudbury Modern Secondary School in 1954, attended an afternoon tea hosted at The Mill Hotel.
Organised by school friends Frances Cerrino and Jean Harrington, the reunion, which was attended by 17 former classmates who studied at the secondary school in Mill Lane, enabled the group to reminisce about the past.
“We were talking about the good old times, about lots of silly things we did at school,” said Mrs Cerrino, of Brandeston Close, Great Waldingfield, whose family moved to Sudbury after being evacuated during the Second World War.
Mrs Cerrino, who has fond memories of her childhood in the town, was delighted that the event proved a success.
“I’m pleased – I think it went as well as I could have hoped for,” she said.
Mrs Cerrino is keen to keep in contact with one of the former pupils who she had not seen for 50 years.
The group hope to attend another get together in the future.
