SILK, satin, sequins and tuxedos were the order of the night as scores of students from Sudbury Upper School attended their end-of-term prom.
The “event of the year” for the school calendar proved dazzling, with beautiful gowns, and smart suits and bowties all in abundance. More than 170 Year 11 students attended the event.
The ubiquitous stretch limousine was replaced by some novelty forms of transport, with some students arriving in a tractor, a horse-drawn carriage, a vintage car and even a steam engine.
Students mingled outside the school gates before being transported to Colchester Town Hall.
Billy Herring, head of Year 11, said: “We had a fantastic evening and all the students enjoyed it.
“I’d especially like to thank Lisa Gilson and Sue McEntegart from the school who did all the work in preparing the venue.”
